Women’s Foundation of Minnesota Announces New Staff

Today, the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota (WFMN) announced two new staff members and two staff transitions.

New Staff:

On September 30, Deb Bednarz joined the staff as Bookkeeper. Prior to joining the Foundation, she worked for the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities system and the U.S. District Court of Minnesota. She also volunteers as an English as a Second Language teacher and with her credit union.

On August 26, Erika Idrovo-Cuesta returned to WFMN as the Office Manager. In this role, she leads administrative tasks and assists in event planning. Prior to joining the Foundation, Erika worked as a legal assistant in immigration law and participated in policy training. She graduated from Augsburg University, and will continue as the first in her family in higher education to pursue her master’s in public policy. She was previously the Wenda Weekes Moore Intern at WFMN. Through the Wenda Weekes Moore Internship and Dr. Reatha Clark King Fellowship program to date, WFMN has engaged 38 women of color and American Indian women in all aspects of its operations, including evaluation, fundraising, grantmaking, and administration. 

On July 15, Stacy Papier-Meister, previously the Executive Assistant to the President, became Associate Director of Development, leading grants management and stewardship for the Foundation.

On August 5, Jamara Cheek, previously the Executive Assistant to the Vice President, became the Executive Assistant to the President and Vice President.
