Ripley Memorial Foundation Awards $65,800 in Grants Focused on Teen Pregnancy Prevention Efforts
The Ripley Memorial Foundation, a donor advised fund of the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota, has awarded $65,800 in grants to seven organizations. The grant period is January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018.
Grantees include:
Annex Teen Clinic (Robbinsdale) | $8,600 – To support classroom and community presentations in Northwest Hennepin County through the Clinic’s health education programs.
Centro Tyrone Guzman (Minneapolis) | $8,000 – To support the Raíces Youth Development Program – Family Prevention Project Training to engage LGBTQ Latine youth in sexual health education programming.
Comunidades Latinas Unidas En Servicio (CLUES) (St. Paul) | $8,600 – To provide culturally responsive, multi-generational teen pregnancy programming for Latino families in the Twin Cities through the ¡Cuídate! curriculum.
Family Tree Clinic (St. Paul) | $8,000 – To support a school-based comprehensive sexual and reproductive health education program serving primarily low-income students in Twin Cities schools.
HAP (St. Paul) | $8,000 – To support the ASCEND program to host mother/daughter retreats and build awareness of the risks of sexual exploitation.
Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota (St. Paul) | $8,600 – To support IN.clued, a pregnancy prevention program for LGBTQ youth delivered by Planned Parenthood’s Teen Council.
University of Minnesota Foundation (Minneapolis) | $16,000 – To support the University of Minnesota’s Healthy Youth Development-Prevention Research Center for the creation and publication of both the 2017 and 2018 Minnesota Adolescent Sexual Health Report.
