Join Rise + Thrive Roundtable on March 8: Resourcing Rest and Radical Care

We’re marking International Women’s Day on March 8 with a FeMNist Week of events!
Join the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota and our partners for a Rise + Thrive Roundtable: Resourcing Rest and Radical Care in Feminist-Led Movements. In a lunch hour conversation with healing justice leaders, hear why rest is resistance and why it’s essential to support grassroots leaders in gender justice.
Join us over Zoom and Facebook Live — on Wednesday, March 8, from Noon – 1 p.m.
From uprisings to pandemics to our reproductive rights, holistic well-being is critical to sustaining movements. Women, girls, and gender-expansive people have long been at the forefront of those movements — leading the way with grit and joy — yet investing in their rest and well-being has been minimal. We’ll explore the importance of resourcing sustaining movements in healing justice, and how we can center joy and healing in leadership.
Women’s Foundation President & CEO Gloria Perez will lead a conversation with Minnesota practitioners leading movements for healing and justice.
Rise + Thrive panelists:
- Suzanne Koepplinger, Healing Justice Philanthropic Leader & Founder of Catalyst North Consulting
- Amoke Kubat, Northside Healer & Artist of Yo Mama’s House
- Rebeka Ndosi, Holistic Healing Practitioner & Teacher
- Joo Hee Pomplun, Body Worker & Executive Director of The Alliance
In response to our ongoing research and listening, we invest in our impact area of holistic well-being & reproductive justice through policy, research, and grantmaking to ensure that women, girls, and gender-expansive people are well, with maternal and infant health, reproductive justice, and healing. Our investments address the impacts of structural racism and respond to community-specific needs with grantmaking for support, healing, and restoration for women, girls, and families affected by trauma, violence, erasure, and harm.
Join the Women’s Day Rise + Thrive Roundtable virtually and hear from leaders in healing justice work on why rest is resistance and how philanthropy has a responsibility to support grassroots leaders in gender justice.
We invite you to continue conversations with us to realize holistic well-being looks like and resource healing workers leading the field.
