MN Latine Fund
At this moment when the resilience of our communities is being tested, a group of Latine leaders has come together to launch the MN Latine Fund.
We stand united and committed to amplifying the voices and experiences of all targeted immigrant communities.
Funding Priority

The MN Latine Fund has two priorities:
First, we aim to inspire solidarity and to attract new investments through the Immigrant Rapid Response Fund to address urgent needs in safety, legal protections, and access to strong sources of community support.
Second, we want to ensure our communities thrive, empowered and recognized for their invaluable contributions to our state and our country. In the long term, we aim to raise $200 million to invest in Latine communities, and by extension, improve the futures of all Minnesotans.
The Vision
Latine Minnesotans are vital to the state’s social, cultural, and economic fabric, yet their contributions continue to go unrecognized and underfunded.
The MN Latine Fund, formed by a broad coalition of Latine philanthropic leaders, is launching a bold new strategy: raise $200 million to invest in Latine communities, and by extension, improve the futures of all Minnesotans.
Our Immigrant Rapid Response Fund will raise $5 million to support immediate needs of Somali, Latine, and other immigrant-serving organizations serving our communities on the front lines.
As a statewide community foundation, the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota is housing the MN Latine Fund as part of its strategic goal to build community power and support movements that move Minnesota toward gender and racial justice.
The Opportunity
Latine communities drive Minnesota’s economic engine.
- $17.5B contributed to the state GDP (2022)
- 6.72% Latine GDP growth rate (vs. 1.36% statewide)
- 11% increase in Latine-held jobs (2000-21)
- 77.5% Latine workforce participation
- 30% of Latines under 15 years, 40% working age
The Challenge
Latine communities face violence, unmet basic needs, and the impacts of harmful policies on a daily basis. Fear and systemic barriers cause prevent those could benefit from social services from accessing them.
- 14.5% of Latine individuals live in poverty compared to 7.5% of white Minnesotans
- A $17,000 income gap exists between Latine and white households
- Latine-serving organizations remain invisible in funding priorities, receiving less than 1% of philanthropic dollars
- Latines are underrepresented in philanthropic leadership – only 1% of foundation CEOs are Latine
The Call
It’s time to move beyond solidarity statements to bold, sustained action. Join us by increasing your direct contributions to Latine-serving organizations, as well as investing in the MN Latine Fund to support all immigrant communities.
Through concerted effort and substantial investment in Latine communities, we can uplift ALL communities in Minnesota, ensuring safety, visibility, and vitality for generations to come.
