Location: Hybrid work environment (both virtual and in-office). Office expectation is approximately 25%. As a community foundation with a statewide focus, community context is an integral aspect to achieve the Foundation’s mission. As such, the incumbent to this position should reside within the state of Minnesota and within a commutable distance to WFM’s office in Minneapolis.

Summary
The Community Impact Manager supports the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota’s impact with partners and community by project managing the day-to-day Community Impact (CI) programs and projects, events, program systems, and storytelling to advance the field for gender and racial equity and justice. The ideal candidate for this position is a highly organized, motivated self-starter, who has the proven ability to break large projects into manageable, sequential steps to ensure successful execution. This position will work across departments and within the Community Impact team. The CI Manager is also responsible for project managing capacity-building with grantee-partners and the broader statewide community. This position works on evaluation and impact strategy, and should be familiar with community engagement strategies. The Community Impact Manager assists the Vice President of Community Impact across all program areas, including providing administrative support as needed.
Essential Functions: Role-Specific
Capacity Building, Evaluation, and Storytelling
- Create and manage a system to ensure grantee stories and results are disseminated to internal teams for appropriate internal and external use including impact and evaluation stories, event summaries, engagements, and reports. (35%)
- Lead coordination between the departments of Community Impact and Strategic Communications & Innovation to ensure integration of Foundation impact in external and internal communication products.
- In partnership with Communications and Advancement, identify emerging needs to create impact stories for external dissemination, reports, and other donor-facing needs on an ongoing basis.
- Assist and project-manage publications and reports through collaborative writing and editing.
- Support capacity-building partnership logistics with Senior Program Officer by designing and implementing targeted and transformational grantee-partner engagements.
- Schedule meetings, manage timelines and deliverables, and communicate with evaluation partners and consultants.
- Collaborate with the Director of Learning and Evaluation to plan evaluation efforts for grant funds, events, and community engagements.
- Support the Director of Learning and Evaluation by coordinating reflective practice with all staff to adopt key learnings from evaluation.
- Maintain procedures to facilitate the Foundation’s evaluation of all community-Ied initiatives.
- Present evaluation learnings to Community Impact team for knowledge sharing and continuous improvement of grantmaking practices.
- Ensure key learnings from evaluation are shared across the Foundation.
- Provide technical assistance to grantee-partners as requested to fulfill reporting and evaluation requirements.
- Enhance Foundation’s relationship with grantee-partners to deepen understanding of impact.
- Lead coordination between the departments of Community Impact and Strategic Communications & Innovation to ensure integration of Foundation impact in external and internal communication products.
Community Impact
- In partnership with the Senior Program Officer, design and manage community engagement opportunities to increase and deepen relationships in multiple cultural and regional communities across the state via one-on-one meetings, attending key events and conferences that align with strategic goals, and sponsorship grantmaking. (30%)
- Collaborate with the Vice President of Community Impact and Program Officer to activate engagement plan for each round of grantmaking to achieve targeted number of organizational and individual applicants.
- Manage, host, and support promotion of Community Connect networking events for a broad group of WFM stakeholders, including current grantees, prospective grantees, community members, donors, and alumni.
- Serve as project manager for the Community Impact-focused aspects of Foundation-wide events.
- Lead the sponsorship grantmaking process in collaboration with the Senior Program Officer.
- Work collaboratively with the Community Impact team to support the identification of strategic grantmaking opportunities linked to research, policy, and strategic goals.
- Deepen Foundation presence within communities across the state by cultivating new relationships for the Foundation, aligning with strategic priorities.
- Attend community events on behalf of the Foundation.
Community Impact Team Coordination & Project/Database Management
- Provide project management for Community Impact-related activities, including community events, CI team calendar(s), webinars, capacity-building opportunities, and evaluation. (20%)
- Manage Community Impact team’s technology systems (Microsoft Teams, Planner, LinkedIn) to ensure continuity, efficiency, and organization.
- Track research, archive, and sustain Foundation data repository to inform Foundation staff and stakeholders on relevant research topics for all evaluated funds.
- Coordinate Community Impact team meetings, retreats, and program evaluation meetings.
- Facilitate cross-department meetings and ensure smooth project flow to ensure success of WFM’s work.
- Provide administrative support for all Community Impact-related events and grantmaking internally and externally.
- Respond to programmatic/event inquiries and serve as liaison to external partners, ensuring high level of customer service and responsiveness.
- Research and identify tools to increase accessibility to Foundation information for grantee-partners and other community partners.
- Ensure written and online tools for programmatic use, including survey and evaluation instruments, are regularly reviewed and aligned with evolving strategies and best practices.
Administrative Support
- Provide administrative support to the Vice President of Community Impact. (10%)
- Schedule and set meetings with donors, elected officials, corporate and philanthropic leaders, volunteers, community partners, and other stakeholders.
- Provide overall administrative support to Vice President of Community Impact.
- Manage departmental SharePoint, ensuring files are properly stored and organized.
- Efficiently troubleshoot technology issues as needed.
- Schedule meetings between Vice President of Community Impact, Community Impact team, and WFM staff as requested and needed.
Essential Functions: Organizational (5%)
- Assist Advancement and Communication teams in Foundation efforts as requested.
- Schedule and build agendas for cross-departmental meetings in collaboration with managers from those departments.
- Participate as an active member of the Foundation staff by working collaboratively with other staff members; and by communicating openly and honestly with staff and volunteers.
- Attend Women’s Foundation of Minnesota events, as required and/or requested by the VP of Community Impact.
- Perform all other projects and tasks assigned by the VP of Community Impact.
- Actively participate in WFM’s learning culture in diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
Job Specifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum three years of project management experience, preferably working in youth development, nonprofit program management, community organizing, and/or with community-based issues.
- Must excel at managing multiple projects while remaining detail-oriented, well-organized, and methodical.
- Experience working with diverse individuals and proven ability to work across differences.
- Knowledge of and interest in technical assistance and communications.
- Experience and comfort using PC computers, Microsoft products (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), web, and a commitment to learn and become proficient in SharePoint, Microsoft Planner, Raiser’s Edge, and Foundation Cloud, and other software as needed.

Physical Requirements Necessary to Perform This Job
- Hear and speak in order to use telephone and communicate with people both in and out of the office environment.
- Apply manual dexterity for computer keyboarding and office equipment use.
- Ability to view a computer screen and use computers for long periods of time.
- Visual ability to review detailed reports and information.
- Physical ability to sit at desk for extended periods and move around office area repeatedly throughout the day.
- Flexible work hours requiring more than 40 hours/week when necessary.
- Must have access to reliable transportation to visit off-site locations in Minnesota.
- Able to perform in-state overnight travel.
- Represent WFM at external events on occasional evenings and weekends.
Tools and Equipment Used
- Able to use multi-line telephone, calculator, copy machines, facsimile machines, computers, postage machine, and other office equipment.
- Able to become proficient in MS Office Suite software as well as fundraising, publishing, and research applications.
