LATEST NEWS | Women’s Foundation of Minnesota Welcomes Two New Trustees

MINNEAPOLIS - The Women’s Foundation of Minnesota, the state’s only grantmaking organization dedicated exclusively to growing equality for women and girls in Minnesota, welcomed two new trustees to its Board in May.

  • Sheba Coffey is a Twin Cities business woman. Most recently the publisher of Women’s Business Minnesota Magazine, Coffey is the is a two time recipient of the People’s Choice Awards for “Most Dynamic TV Show Host,” and executive producer of a cable game show; she is the author of many published articles. Coffey holds a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Minnesota, and is involved in many local volunteer efforts.
  • Joanne Green is the manager of expense accounting at Securian Financial Group. Born and raised in Minneapolis, Green has an Accounting degree from the University of Notre Dame. Green currently serves on board of directors of Face to Face Health and Counseling Service and Minnesota Minority Education Partnership.

Their six-year terms begin under the leadership of Chairwoman Terry Williams, director of community affairs at Ameriprise Financial Advisors, Inc. of Minneapolis. Williams was appointed chair of the board of trustees in May, succeeding former chair Karen Diver, director of special projects for the Fond du Lac Reservation, who served as chair since 2004.

“It’s an honor to welcome these accomplished professional women to the social change work of the Women’s Foundation,” said Lee Roper-Batker, Foundation president and chief executive officer. “They join 17 other Foundation trustees whose commitment of time and talent is moving equality forward statewide for women and girls, transforming Minnesota into a state of equality for all people. Truly, when women move forward, the whole world moves with them.”
