The Women’s Foundation of Minnesota was pleased to host a visiting delegation from Vietnam, sponsored through the Minnesota International Center (MIC). The delegation included: Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh, who runs a non-governmental organization that prevents teen pregnancy; Nguyen Thi Hoai Linh, Director of the National Committee for the Advancement of Women in Vietnam, and Dr. Phung Nguyen The Nguyen, who is a Lecturer of Pediatric Department of University Medicine. The discussion focused on how the Women's Foundation of Minnesota raises money, as well as disperses the funds to our grantees. Challenges of sexism, racism, and poverty are universal – and we had a fascinating discussion about how we work on systems change here in Minnesota, as well as how they tackle these same problems in Vietnam.
