ABOUT US | Our Mission

Founded in 1983 as the very first statewide women's foundation in the country, the Women's Foundation of Minnesota is growing a state of equality for all women and girls statewide — and with it, stronger communities and a stronger Minnesota.

We fund and build the capacity of innovative social-change programs across the state, and conduct valuable research on the status of women and girls in Minnesota to inform our grantmaking, educate opinion shapers and policymakers, and raise public awareness.

We also measure social change with specific indicators for tracking progress, and we promote women’s philanthropy and provide our donors with important training and tools to help shape a just society.
